This October, the Boston Museum of Fine Arts has organized an exhibition of works by contemporary British artist Rachel Whiteread. Better known for her large scale cast sculptures, the show marks Whiteread's US debut of Place (Village) (2006/2008). The installation is comprised of 200 hand-made dollhouses in a variety of architectural styles which have been collected by the artist over the past 20 years. In a way, the work is an ode to the concepts of domesticity, collecting and modernity.

More to come...

Place (Village) is on view between October 15 2008 and January 29 2009

at The Boston MFA
